The Lordship of Jesus Christ

We celebrate Jesus Christ - God revealed in human form - as the sole source of the life, vitality, and vision of Discover. Because of this we are passionate about pursuing an intimate relationship with Jesus on a daily basis. As our relationship with Him matures, we will show our world what Jesus looks like.

The Authority of the Scripture

We declare that the Bible is the treasure to be discovered on our journey of healthy Christ-centered living. Discover will unswervingly cling to the Bible-based non-negotiable truths of our faith. Spirit-led worship through music, prayer, and Biblical discovery will clearly communicate the Living Word. We are passionate about discovering the practical wisdom found in the Bible.

The Value of the Person

People matter to Discover - because people matter to God. We exist to be a conduit through which people can experience transformed lives. We are passionate about people. We love...we care...we welcome...we share. Since Jesus never rejected anyone, neither do we.

The Power of Community

“No man is an island” – and no person or church will discover full meaning and potential without engaging in community. We exist to be a place where healthy relationships can be fostered and to be used in shaping the core values of our community. We are passionate about the improvement of our community and we give of our time and resources to that end.

Core Beliefs

As a part of The Wesleyan Church denomination, Discover holds to these core beliefs:

• We believe in one God, three persons of one substance; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, who was both fully God and fully man.
• We believe in the Holy Spirit who lives within us, giving us the power to live a holy life.
• We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God.
• We believe that man was created in God’s image.
• We believe that Christ died on the cross so that by faith in Him we are given salvation.
• We believe that good works show evidence of our faith in Christ.
• We believe that sanctification is the work of God in the life of the believer.
• We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers for edifying the Church.
• We believe in the sacraments of the Communion and Baptism
